Rainbow Tigle

This vibrant oil painting captures a radiant moment of cosmic harmony and spiritual awakening. This piece is the only oil painting I've ever created, born during a transitional time after completing intricate ink works like Tigle Dripping. I had set aside my usual doodling practice, and this work emerged as something more luminous and elemental. Originally conceived as the logo for a retreat center in Costa Rica's Diamante Valley—dedicated to dark retreats that renew the sense of sight and sensitize the nervous system—it carries an intention of deep restoration and heightened perception.

The lotus, rising pure and unstained, draws from ancient spiritual traditions: in Buddhism and Hinduism, it symbolizes enlightenment, purity, and rebirth—emerging flawless from muddy depths to open toward the light. Here, it rests between the sun (vitality, clarity, the active force of day) and the moons (intuition, renewal, the receptive mystery of night), embodying balance between opposites. The rainbow arcs evoke the full spectrum of energy—perhaps the chakras aligning, or the prismatic unfolding of awareness—radiating outward in celebration of wholeness and transformation.

Painted in rich oils, the colors hold a glowing depth: the vivid blue field, the warm golden yolks of the moons, the soft green heart of the lotus petals, and the fiery orange sun all interact with a sense of gentle movement and inner light. It feels like a visual mandala for renewal—a reminder that even after periods of stillness or darkness, new vision can bloom, sensitizing us to subtler layers of experience.
